The western horoscope signs There are twelve of them and they are located on the zodiacal wheel in the following order: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces.

These names come from the star constellations that involve the Earth, the Moon and the Sun plus the nine planets that participate in that cosmogony.

The sign represents our conscious Self, our character; and the elements They show the way we relate, our positive and negative feelings and our vision of the world..

As explained by the astrologer and tarot reader Beatriz Leveratto, in a newspaper article Clarionpeople are made up of the same elements as the universe, and our personality identifies with some of those four states: plasma (fire), solid (earth), gas (air) and liquid (water).

FIRE (Aries, Leo and Sagittarius). They are passionate signs because they are governed by this element that is a source of light and life. Eye-catching, happy and energetic, vital and histrionic, expressive and brave. They expand upward and sometimes desire the unattainable. Then they appear overwhelming, passionate and reckless. They are born leaders because they are impulsive and because they enlighten others, but so much frontality can make them impatient, overwhelming and demanding.

Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn belong to the Earth element. Photo: Shutterstock.Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn belong to the Earth element. Photo: Shutterstock.

EARTH (Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn). Down to earth, they are stable and confident, traditional and calm, respectful of the rules. They are nurturing, persevering signs, efficient workers, realistic and consistent. They tend to be quiet, but they know how to listen and observe. They are withdrawn, but they know what their inner circle, family and friends need. They are good at business, although sometimes a little stubborn. They cannot stand change and become intransigent.

AIR (Gemini, Libra and Aquarius). Like their element, they are ethereal, subtle, sociable, creative, visionary, communicative and lucid. They provide solutions to the concert of the universe. Your words bring knowledge, wisdom and encouragement to others. They are open and tolerant, they know how to understand and have rational thinking and ideas that are cutting-edge. But they get upset if things don’t go their way. They can be warm like warm air and cold like cold air.

WATER (Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces). They know how to put themselves in someone else’s shoes, they are empathetic, sensitive, loving and protective. Water can mean cleansing, both physically and emotionally; or tears that ward off sadness, heal and alleviate pain. Through intuition and compassion, they dissolve and merge with others. “They can become a puddle, rain, ocean or limited inside a glass,” explains Beatriz Leveratto in her book Vibrate in Your Element (Random House ed.). They adapt so much to others that they may not differentiate what is their own from what is foreign, and they suffer if they set limits.

Conclusion: each element has its power and its vulnerable side: Air can be warm or icy; Fire can be luminous or incendiary; The Earth is safe but binds and the Water quenches thirst or floods.
